Basic Life Support Provider course 

***This CPR course uses the updated 2020 AHA curriculum***

This BLS (CPR) course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be a team member and leader in an in-hospital or out-of-hospital setting. The BLS Instructor-led course teaches basic life support skills to single and team members for use in prehospital and in-facility environments, focusing on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics.

This course does NOT include First Aid certification.

 Course highlights the importance of:

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an influential team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team 

This American Heart Association (BLS) Basic Life Support course satisfies initial (first-time) & renewal (returning) students.

Course completion certificate:

An American Heart Association BLS Provider certificate* (valid for 2 years).

*BLS provider cards are in E-Card format. 

Provider E-cards are provided within 24 hours from course completion.

A $30 Rescheduling or late fee applies to all students who are late or miss a scheduled class.

Renewal ACLS provider course 

***This course uses the updated 2020 AHA curriculum***

This Renewal ACLS course is geared toward healthcare professionals who direct or participate in managing cardiopulmonary arrest, other cardiovascular emergencies, or emergency response personnel. 

This ACLS course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, care systems, and recognition and intervention for cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

What does this course teach?

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of ACS and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

The ACLS course requires completing pre-course work (pretest AND precourse videos). Full details of precourse work are included in your confirmation email after registration. Please email the Certificates and BLS provider cards to Info@cprxpress.com before the course date to avoid rescheduling*.  

NOTE: If you do not have current or unexpired AHA or Red Cross BLS and AHA(only) ACLS Provider card(s) or pre-course work at class, you must reschedule with a rescheduling* fee.

Initial PALS provider course

This Initial PALS course is geared toward healthcare providers who aim to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations reinforcing essential concepts. 

What does this course teach?

  • Basic life support skills, including effective Pediatric chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Includes realistic clinical scenarios that encourage active participation – delivered through actual pediatric patient videos and lifelike simulations
  • Comprehensive and includes our systematic approach to assessing and treating pediatric patients in emergencies
  • Hands-on class format to reinforce skills proficiency

The American Heart Association’s ACLS Prep: ECG & Pharmacology Bundle conveniently combines both the ACLS Prep: ECG and ACLS Prep: Pharmacology eLearning Courses into one convenient bundle for students who are preparing to take an AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course.  ***NOTE: This is not the required pre-course work for an ACLS Provider Course or the Heartcode Part 1 for the skills session.  This is a prep for those who are not familiar with ECGs and Pharmacology.***

Course Learning Objectives:
After completing this course, students should be able to:

  • List essential ACLS drugs and their usage
  • Identify ACLS medication doses and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies.
  • Apply basic pharmacology to the ACLS algorithms
  • Explain heart anatomy and basic electrophysiology
  • Explain normal ECG measurements
  • Recognize and understand basic arrhythmias

This course is an online review of basic ECG and pharmacology information required to succeed in an ACLS Provider course. It does not replace the required Precourse Work for attending an ACLS Provider class; it is supplemental material to assist with preparations for those not familiar with the ACLS concepts.
